What it does

Cindy is an open-source AI agent for your computers and phone. It brings Claude Code, Codex, and Pi into one interface, and a task keeps its history, memory, and skills when you switch harness or model. The site says your phone can open a session that runs on your computer, reach its files, use a model configured on another machine, and take over the desktop through built-in remote control. Companions with their own role, memory, and skills can run recurring work, and Skills, plugins, and MCP connect more tools. The client is licensed under Apache-2.0.

Where it fits

Install the desktop client and connect a subscription you already have, an API key, or a local model. Start a task in a project folder, set its permissions, and review the diff or result before you keep it. Add the phone app when you want to follow or steer the same task away from the desk.

Latest update

. Desktop release 0.1.120 adds a built-in screenshot and screen-recording tool.

Before you commit

The client is free, but model use is billed by your provider or by Cindy's optional managed service, and the site says managed plans are not unlimited. Remote tasks need the host computer online with remote access turned on, and local models are in beta. From mainland China, cindy.app redirects to the domestic site cindy.cn. The preview is the English banner from the official GitHub repository, not a live page capture. This check did not install the app.
