What it does
Magpie is a visual library for things you already saved. It brings in Instagram saves, X bookmarks, TikTok favorites, Reddit saves, Pinterest pins, Cosmos saves, Are.na channels, GitHub stars, and browser bookmarks. A browser extension copies a new save from Instagram, X, TikTok, or Reddit as you make it, pictures and video included, and the other sources come in on a sync. AI looks at each picture and video, then titles, tags, and describes it, so you can search by what is in it or by color. You can ask for references, such as a calm hardware launch, and Magpie picks saves from your library, gives a reason for each, and makes a project. It keeps a copy of the image or video, so the save remains if the post is deleted. The Mac app sits in the menu bar.
Where it fits
Start free and connect one source you already use. Search by what is in a picture, or filter by a color. When you need a set for a job, ask for references and read the reason on each save before you treat the project as a brief.
Before you commit
The pricing section says you can start free, with 500 saves, every listed source, the browser extension, AI tags, search, projects, and 2 GB for copies of pictures and videos. Past 500, saves are kept and wait for a plan. Plus is €8.99 a month or €99 a year, with unlimited saves and 100 GB. Pro is €14.99 a month or €165 a year, with 500 GB, original-quality video, and MCP access for Claude, Cursor, and Codex. Euro prices include VAT. The page also lists US prices of $9.99 and $16.99 a month, plus tax. The iPhone app and the Safari and Firefox extensions are on a waitlist, and Android is in development. The homepage shows a sample library. This check did not sign in or import saves.
